Unlike many paints sold by volume (Liters), our HV’ART advanced range is measured by weight (KG). We use higher-quality, denser materials and a greater concentration of solid pigments and binders. This means you are getting more of the “good stuff” that stays on the wall, and less of the liquid that evaporates. Consequently, 1 kg of our dense, high-quality paint has a volume of approximately 900 ml.

Prep & Application

Preparation

To achieve the best results, start by preparing the surface:

• Thoroughly clean it to remove any grease, wax, or resins
• Use sharp milling tools to minimise fibre lift
• Sand with 180, 240, 320, and 400 grit sandpaper

Application

• Use a spray gun to apply thin, even coats without excessive product build-up.
• Use the product undiluted for optimal results and focus on conditions that maximize atomisation.
• General guidelines for spray application are: Conventional (4-6% thinning, 2.0–2.2 nozzle, 3-4 air pressure), Air Mix (no thinning, 11 nozzle, 0–2 air pressure, 80–110 coating pressure), and Airless (no thinning, 11 nozzle, no air pressure, 120–150 coating pressure).
• Consider using pre-atomizers and pre-heaters (30-40°C) for consistent application year-round.

Please note: Drying times can be extended by lower temperatures, high humidity, or a third coat, so ensure good ventilation by exchanging the air in the drying room every 15-20 minutes.

Drying

Drying time for HV’ART Advanced Gesso Factory Primer (GSF) varies depending on film thickness and environmental conditions. Substrates with high extractive content or application in damp/cold weather may extend drying. Ensure adequate temperature and ventilation throughout the process. Insufficient drying conditions can lead to coating damage.
